About us

Welcome to the South Coogee Saints!

The South Coogee Junior Football Club (SCJFC) has proudly represented the Coogee community since its establishment in 1972, initially fielding its first team at Russell Road Oval before relocating to its current home ground at Santich Park—fondly known as the Home of the Saints. Today, the club boasts a thriving Auskick program and teams ranging from Year 3 to Year 12.

As one of the oldest football clubs in the district, South Coogee Junior Football Club continues to thrive, with approximately 550 boys and girls from pre-primary to Year 12 participating in football each year. The club is dedicated to promoting, fostering, and cultivating Australian Rules football, nurturing a passion for the game within the community.

The club’s committed volunteers work tirelessly to enrich the local community by instilling values of fair play, teamwork, and a lifelong love of football. Through the dedication of our committee, coaches, and team managers, every participant is supported in reaching their full potential, both on and off the field.

South Coogee JFC is proud to have been recognised by the Western Australian Football Commission and the South Fremantle Football Club as a strong and respected club.

Over the years, it has produced several AFL stars, including Glen Jakovich (West Coast Eagles), Clint Jones (St Kilda), and Jacob Surjan (Port Adelaide). Additionally, many WAFL players, such as 2018/19 WAFL premiership player Ben Sokol, have come through our ranks.

In 2022, the club celebrated its 50th year of Australian Rules football, marking a significant milestone in the Coogee community and the wider City of Cockburn. This incredible achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support and dedication of our volunteers and sponsors. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who have contributed to the club’s enduring success.

Whether you’re a player, parent, or supporter, we welcome you to be part of the legacy and spirit of the South Coogee Saints!
